Day Chemotherapy Unit
The MVPH has a 11 bed Day Chemotherapy Unit in which patients can receive their chemotherapy treatments in a relaxed environment. The main treatment room has a light and pleasing atmosphere with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out into a leafy courtyard and recliner armchairs ensure patient comfort. The unit features state of the art technology and highly qualified registered nursing staff.

The specialist Medical Oncology Consulting Suite allows patients to see doctors prior to their treatment, as well as providing multi-disciplinary medical clinics whereby patients can see several specialists in the one visit.

The privacy and dignity of patients is respected with adequate toilet facilities with disabled access. A sitting/tea room is also situated in the Unit for use by patients and carers. All rooms in this Unit have a relaxing outlook into the courtyards through large floor to ceiling windows. If day chemotherapy patients require overnight hospitalisation, they can be transferred internally to overnight ward areas.
Consulting suites for both Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology are on-site and patients have ease of access to their doctor.
