Day Chemotherapy Unit

The Day Chemotherapy Unit (DCU) is an eleven chair unit providing an area for patients to receive their cancer treatment in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

The main treatment area has a light and pleasing atmosphere, with floor to ceiling windows looking onto a leafy courtyard.

Specialist oncology nurses provide education and support during treatment and phone support is available after discharge. A comprehensive range of printed information is available on request.

Referral is available to cancer resource nurses, breast care nurse, Look Good-Feel Better program, wig purchase and hire, and community nurses where applicable.

Our focus is on the provision of high quality care in a supportive, comfortable environment. Light refreshments are served by our friendly volunteer staff. DVD players are available for use along with a comprehensive selection of DVD’s.

Border Medical Oncology is located on site, directly above Day Chemotherapy.

Inpatient Ward

Our Inpatient Ward has 30 beds, with the majority being private rooms with ensuites. The Inpatient ward specialises in Oncology and Rehabilitation care. Designated Rehabilitation facilities such as Physiotherapy gymnasium, occupational therapy kitchen, patient dining room, outdoor gait training area and aquatic physiotherapy pool are available on site. Specialist rehabilitation and oncology trained nurses provide expert care 24 hours per day.

Sleep Disorder Centre

The Sleep Disorder Centre is located on site at Murray Valley Private Hospital. It operates Monday to Thursday evenings and provides evaluation and treatment of all sleep related medical disorders. The Centre has two rooms each furnished with comfortable double beds, televisions and ensuites. There is also a lounge / kitchenette area available where supper and a light breakfast are available if desired

Fully supervised testing is available in the following areas:

  • Standard Diagnostic
  • CPAP titration
  • Oxygen titration
  • BiPAP
  • Dental Splint
  • Day time sleep studies

There is also a limited screening sleep service, provided as an Outpatient service. This study is conducted in Willow Park Lodge, an accommodation Unit attached to the Hospital, and your study is unsupervised. However, at any time that you require assistance with your equipment, you may contact the experienced staff in the Sleep Disorder Centre and they will readily assist you.
